Former YoTV Presenter Lumko ‘Johnson’ Leqela Dead At 32

If people could have anything they wanted, they would be more than glad to have it, according to the proverb. However, life often has other plans. Even if they may want to, people cannot live as long as they would like.

That was the tragic reality for late YoTV host Lumko “Johnson” Leqela. He was 32.

He passed away yesterday, Wednesday, July 13, according to his family, who made no mention of the cause of death. Just that it expressed sadness over his demise.

When Leqela was a youngster, he began his media experiences with the youth-focused YoTV on SABC1. Since then, he has significantly changed, turning into a writer and radio producer.

His passing has been seen as a loss for the LGBTQIA community as well as the media industry.

On social media, many who knew him and appreciated his contributions to South African journalism have been sharing their favorite memories of him as well as the void his passing left. His demise was terrible and heartbreaking, according to one fan.

Although the cause of his passing is yet unknown, funeral arrangements are allegedly in the works. Please check back frequently for changes as we may provide you with additional information.
