With a new body of work titled “The Great Revival (Live)” CD, South African psalmist Aubrey Takaluna, better known by his stage as Takie Ndou, is back in the spirit and transporting audiences to a higher spiritual realm.
There are a whopping 18 tunes in this body of work, which appeared on Apple Music a few days ago. Although there are several tracks, there are few guests. On this body of work, only Shandy Changes Ndu, Collen Maluleke, Jonah Chivasa, and Oncemore Six appear as guests.
Despite the lack of visitors, Takia Ndou was able to create a body of work that will inspire the Christian race on a spiritual level.
“Jehovha Ri Renda Vhone (Live),” a profoundly affecting song that will not only confirm your trust in God but also keep that confirmation on fire for a while, opens the compilation. It is worthy of being ranked as the first song on the playlist.
Thendi na Vhugala picks up where the lead song left off by leading the listener into a spiritual energy corridor that is both exhilarating and appealing.
The third song on the CD, “Ngiyavuma,” which is also performed live, slows things down. “Ngiyavuma,” like the album’s opening two tracks, fulfills its promise, leaving the listener with little choice but to appreciate the result.
Ndou confirms his identity and his rights in Christ in track 4, “Who I Am,” a soulful and melodic passage that will grab listeners’ attention at any time. The story is also Ndou’s, as is the song, but just on the surface. Every believer is affirmed by the song.
The fact that every Christian already knows — or should know — in the struggle against the forces of this world is that it is not by the might of man, but by the spirit of God. Ndou examined this truth in track 5, “It’s not by Might.”
“Imvula Iyeta” and its reprise version, the following two songs, sparkle with spiritual warmth that will captivate just about any believer out there. It’s challenging to listen to both songs and remain skeptical
The album’s ninth track, “Nyararai,” is important since it features a guest for the first time. Jonah Chivasa and Ndou made a stunning musical pairing for this song. The two performers put up a wonderful show. One leaves yearning they connect once more, possibly once more.
The atmosphere was prepared for cooperation by Jonah Chivasa. Track 10 (“Through It All”) that follows has Collen Maluleke as a guest. Despite the fact that we admit the Chivasa collaboration is our preference, this second joint song in the compilation has just as much intensity as the first.
The next song, “Through It All,” is unquestionably one of the album’s most captivating. The theme of the song, which is quite relevant, contributes to its appeal.
The very jubilant track “Hallelujah,” featuring Oncemore Six, might make you scream in spiritual pleasure.
Although the song “My Lockdown Medley” on track 13 can conjure up thoughts of the lockdown, it also contains an underlying theme of appreciation. It’s gorgeous.
The lone guest is Shandu Changes Ndu on track 14, “Dakalo Ngei Phanda.” We’ll be the first to say that this isn’t our favorite song from the album. Despite our view on it, it’s still a powerful spiritual song that you might want to listen to.
Takie Ndou embodies the sincere believer in “Loving You Lord,” as he professes his love for God and all things related to God. The final tracks have a love theme running through them.
The force and joy of the aural ensemble of “Vhayakona” and “Ngizophumelela” are endearing. They establish the tone for the last song, “Mine Mine Mine,” which comes next.
The final song has a youthful feel about it. It’s challenging to listen to this song without grinning internally. This song gives you the reassurance that you’re not alone, which is incredibly appealing, especially at a time when uncertainty permeates every aspect of life.
Every Christian should listen to Takie Ndou’s CD “The Great Revival (Live),” which we believe has a project of resonant spiritual energy equivalent in strength to compilations of the same genre released in South Africa in the previous two weeks.
