Sebasa Mogale faces more fraud charges

Sebasa Mogale, the actor from Skeem Saam, is facing new fraud accusations after a number of people filed a complaint against him.

In May, the actor was charged with fraud after being accused of being a part of a cryptocurrency scam that allegedly promised a 300 percent return on investment.

Sebasa was suspended from SABC following a media exposé that claimed he was involved in a cryptocurrency fraud that guaranteed a 300 percent return on investment.

As new fraud accusations are apparently filed against him, it appears that the issue will not be resolved anytime soon.

Brigadier Motlafelo Mojapelo, a spokesperson for the Limpopo police, told the outlet that the cases of fraud were opened at the Polokwane Police Station by various people “after their purported investments in Bitcoin through the Polokwane Police Station.”

“A total of five instances worth over R800 000 are being investigated by the police.” The investigations, which must include any possible transactions, are currently ongoing, and once completed, the cases will be handed over to the senior public prosecutor for further instructions or a decision.”

Brigadier Mojapelo also stated that no arrests have yet been made.

They were turned away when they went to file charges against Mogale at a police station in Limpopo, according to one of the alleged victims, Tryphosa Kganyago.

“Sebasa’s case was not opened by the police. They said we didn’t have any proof and that the case wasn’t serious. “The cops already thought we didn’t have a case,” Kganyago said.
