Sammie Heavens, Nasty C’s girlfriend, has experimented with rap music and has talked openly about the process.
Sam, whose true name is Ntombizodwa Beatrice Sibanyoni, claims that she is creative and was a poet before deciding to follow her calling as Sam the Rapper.
Though I’ve always been creative, it took me some time to accept that what I was producing was worthy of sharing. Sam the rapper was created through poetry. When I posted my poetry on TikTok and saw the responses, I began to believe I could have something.
Beatrice claimed she was hesitant to tell her lover she was a rapper for fear he wouldn’t take it seriously.
“I was afraid to tell him that I wanted to rap because I thought he would think I wasn’t serious about it. I didn’t want him to believe that I was making fun of the arts or that I was only doing it because I had seen him succeed in it.
He encouraged me to be passionate and pushed me to do so.
