How ‘Papa Ajasco’ stand-in character, Femi Ogunrombi died. Veteran Nollywood performer Femi Ogunrombi, who filled in for the show’s titular role in “Papa Ajasco,” has gone away.
On Sunday, Dr. Shaibu Husseini, a theatrical professional, journalist, and educator, confirmed the veteran’s passing on his Twitter page.
He tweeted, “I have just received reliable information that Mr. Femi Ogunrombi, an ethnomusicologist, former music educator with @NATIONALTROUPE, and former stand-in for the ‘Papa Ajasco’ character on the well-known @waleadenugaprod comedic series ‘Papa Ajasco,’ has passed away.
Digital journalist and talent manager Mr. Mayowa Adenekan, who also shared the story on social media, said that the late actor filled in for the original Papa Ajasco role when he was unable to perform.

Femi Ogunrombi, often known as Papa Ajasco, was a veteran actor.
“I see that many individuals are exploiting pictures of Mr. Abiodun Ayoyinka, the original Papa Ajasco. But Mr. Femi Ogunrombi, who took over the role when Mr. Ayoyinka left the program, is the one who perished. God rest his soul,” he wrote.
Ogunrombi, a multi-instrumentalist, music educator, composer, actress, producer, and director of music and cinema, attended Obafemi Awolowo University, or OAU, where she also studied drama.
The Ayoro Voices is a choir that he established and lead. Between 1980 and 1983, this ensemble served as the OAU’s cultural ambassadors.
Ogunrombi began working as a music instructor with the National Troupe of Nigeria in 1994. He attained the title of Director of Music by 1998.
He founded and led the National Choir before leaving the government in 1998 to start his own music company.
Ogunrombi made his appearance on the well-liked TV comedy show as “Papa Ajasco” in 2006.
Wale Adenuga Productions produced Papa Ajasco and Company.
At the same time, Ogunrombi was appointed the PEFTI Film Institute’s Coordinator of Studies.
