Here Is What AKA Thinks Of SA Rappers Who Switched To Amapiano

A number of South African rappers have discovered that they need to convert to a more mainstream genre than SA hip hop, which has struggled in recent years and has been eclipsed by Amapiano.

Many well-known musicians, including Cassper Nyovest and Reason, are recognized for abandoning SA Hip Hop (at least temporarily in Cassper’s case) and concentrating only on Amapiano. While hip hop fans found this change to be rather contentious, AKA’s viewpoint wasn’t publicly known until he produced his most recent offering, the single Lemons Lemonade, in which he discusses the trend.

AKA rapped in reference to this new fad, saying, “People claim “Hip hop died,” that’s rubbish / Thank God they exposed their true colors / Switched up piano like vultures.”
