45-Year-Old Council Chairperson Of Stellenbosch University Ainsley Moos Has Died. Ainsley Moos, the 45-year-old CEO at African Rainbow Capital and council chairperson of Stellenbosch University (SU), passed away abruptly and unexpectedly as a result of complications after a routine medical procedure.
Since joining the SU council in 2014, Moos has held a number of posts on the council, including head of the executive and human resources committees as well as chair of the council’s compensation committee.
On December 3, 2021, he began his term as chair after being chosen as deputy chairperson in 2018.
The Rector and Vice-Chancellor of SU, Professor Wim de Villiers, called Moos “an highly brilliant council chairwoman” and a “valued and dedicated friend of the university” who offered motivational assistance.
Dr. Nicky Newton-King, the council’s deputy chair, claimed that Moos’ modesty and cool leadership guided the body through difficult situations.
