21 Dead In N2 Pongola Accident

The N2 Pongola disaster has resulted in 21 deaths that have been verified.

Sad news was delivered to Mzansi on Friday when a truck and bakkie crashed on the N2 near Pongola, resulting in 21 fatalities. The KZN Emergency Medical Services reportedly put forth a lot of effort to recover any bodies left by the wayside after the accident.

 

The total number of them was 21, with two adults and 19 kids between the ages of 5 and 12. The track crashed into the bakkie while attempting to pass another vehicle, according to video released by eNCA. After being taken by ambulance to the iTshelejuba Hospital, one of the kids passed away.

According to a report by SA Trucker, they obtained an audio tape from the truck driver in which he claims that when he struck the bakkie, he was evading traffic police. The driver apparently took part in the demonstration on the N2, according to a post by Road Angels Traffic Info.

The collision’s news shocked Pongola, and Sikhosana issued a statement urging drivers to exercise caution. “I extend my sincere condolences to the families of the students who perished in the disaster on behalf of uPhongolo Municipality. We sincerely hope that the impacted families will find solace, bravery, and hope during this difficult loss period.
